The first garden is the scariest. I've only been gardening a few years, and I've learned that each garden has it's new experiences. I'm origionally from the South, and learning to garden in the New England mountains requires a new approach to anything I've ever done. Because the growing season here is so short, (and the fact that I am usually so impatient for spring), I have to start most of my plants indoors. The official date for planting outdoors is Memorial Day. By then the chances of a freeze are slim, (but not impossible). There are several good sites with tips & tricks around the net that I have used a lot. Email me if you want to compare notes.

I love your site! Even though my kiddos are grown, it's fun to relive the adventures, and mis-adventures, of raising little ones.

May the Lord bless you.
