See a Penny
In a previous post I mentioned we found out that our so-called white mare is really a stallion. He has since been renamed by our almost 5 year old, who insists on calling him Diego. As in “Go, Diego, Go”, one of his favorite cartoons. I guess it could be worse
This past Friday we acquired an honest-to-goodness mare. She is brown & white with a white mane & blue eyes. Her name is Penny. We did not name her, she came with that name. When we went to pick her up, first she had to be caught by the Amish children. After James & Will got a lead on her, we had to wrangle her into the trailer. James got in the trailer & pulled the lead while Will & I got on either side of her to lift her front hooves. She DID NOT like this. She bucked a bit & got away from us, but after a few more minutes, we got her in there.
As soon as we got her home, driving by the back pasture, she whinnied to Diego & Little Bit. Boy were they happy to see her! We backed the trailer into the pasture & opened the gate & she bounded out & immediately cozied up to Little Bit & Diego. Maybe we will have a new pony before long!

Your ponies are cute!
What fun!
Do you have a ‘hot wire’ on your fence line? If not, you may want to consider it. Barb-wire and horses don’t mix well. I’ve seen some bad cuts on horses from barb-wire, to where the horse had to be put down. Would hate to see those beauties get hurt.
They sure look full of spunk, though!
Have a blessed day!

We strung one up, but have not got it working yet. I think we need to get a new battery for the charger. Right now, Little Bit (the dark one) is the only one who will let us close enough to pet & lets the kids ride on him. We are working on taming Diego & Penny. Penny lets me pat her nose now, but Diego is still a bit shy.
