Just a quick update on life here.
Not a whole lot going on, an employment change, and a few mishaps is about it. The company I worked fulltime for the past few years just shut down, so Steve Gerencser and I have decided to hang our own shingle out again. You can see the new business website at http://www.seo-shop.com.
All the Kids are all getting along just fine, and enjoyed the approximately 10 inches of snow we got last weekend. Not much else to say there, but Anastasias new potbelly pig is causing a bit of a ruckas, tearing stuff up when it can, but she loves it just the same anyway. My eldest daughters high performance camaro refuses to pass inspection, so we will have to get some sensors fixed on it.
The mishaps were not pretty, cute, or fun. 2 nights ago the toilet got plugged up, as it sometimes does, but this time refused to get unstuck with the plunger. I assumed the worst, that the main line was plugged, or the septic tank was full. So I made sure to tell everyone not to run any water that would end up going down the drains. But, of course, madison went and did the dishes that night, and did one heck of a job filling the entire bathroom with overflow from the downstairs toilet. Not pretty, and surely did not smell very pleasant. Well, Jaime got that mess up, and the next morning we called the plumbers, who told me the first thing to do was to get the septic tank drained. So we called the pumper truck out and nobody was able to find the tank.
As the house is not brand new they advised me it could be buried as far down as 4 feet, as only in later years did they start burying it within 6-12 inches from ground level. So we called yet another guy who had a high powered rotating snake, who then ran 94 feet of snake down the pipes and then followed the sound of the snake slamming against the pipes to locate the tank. We finally found it and only had to dig about 18-20 inches to find the top cover, at which point we could finally call the pumper truck guys back to drain the tank.
The tank was slam full of about 14 years of accumalted crap, literally. That however was not the reason the lines got plugged…. It would appear that our 2 year old thomas had flushed a number of plastic grocery bags down the toilet….
Just another large expense we did not count on today.
Other than that we have one extremely smart piglet as he keeps managing to get out of his pen, when none of the others can and forage all around the yard, and basically dare us to catch him. Thats been fun the past few days for everyone involved.
The baby goats are doing fine and still looking as cute and cuddly as can be. The kids still go out ther regularly to just sit and watch them and pet them of course when the billy lets em get close enough.
That’s about it for right now, god bless everyone out there

January has not been kind to yo’all. I did however enjoy (and even chuckled - no laughed at thomas’s antics). I had a boy like that and I am so happy he grew up to be a father of one such boy. That is what makes life interesting. I hope the business is a success.
I only recall blowing a few things up and electrical mishaps mainly, not flooding the downstairs with crap.
And that darn piglet got out again just a while ago, directly after dinner, and me and cristian had to once again catch her and get her back in the pen. I have a feeling we are going to be less one piglet this weekend, and our freezer stock is going to grow a bit.
when it rains it pours don’t it!
hope the rest of the year is better too ya!
What a story. Reminds me of the diaper wrap my son flushed down that I fished out. (without all the work and expense you incurred)
These stories are fabulous snippets of life that you will one day look back on a laugh at. Your children will remember all the details! I appreciate your no-nonsense writing about your everyday life. It is refreshing to peek into your world and see how God is working.
