Yay for Spring!
I am so happy the weather has finally been staying nice. It gives me a chance to go out & spend time with the animals. Tom, our 2 year old, really enjoys hanging out in the goats pen. He likes to chase Opal, our baby. She is getting pretty easy to catch. We used to have to corner her or get her behind the goat shed. Now, I can just run after her & grab one of her back legs.
The horses are losing their winter coats & they don’t look as shaggy as they did. It is about time to go out & brush them really good & file their hooves again. We bought a little saddle over the winter & the kids are excited to use that. We have to break Penny & Diego first. I think Penny will be a bit easier, as Diego still shies away if you approach him.
This year we will be building a few news pens. We need to separate our smaller hogs from Bacon, our potbelly pig. We also plan on getting some baby turkeys & ducks. We need to get our guinea fowl accustomed to running loose as well. That should be interesting!
