Spring Chickens
Now that spring has rolled around & the weather has warmed up, we are starting to get more babies in. This week we got 25 Golden Comets. Luke was very excited when he saw the baby chicks in the brooder box in the back of the kitchen. Our boxer, Bruiser, is fascinated with them. He stands in front of the box, which has a screen window on the front, and barks at them. He also pushes his snout against it & they peck him. He isn’t too fond of this.
At the end of next week we are expecting 5 Toulouse geese, 20 Pekin ducks & 12 rabbits. We have brooders ready & have built a new pen to keep the rabbits, ducks & geese together. The children are all anxious to get the babies here for cuddles & general annoyance.
