Let It Snow!

By Jaime Cross

One of the many reason I loved Florida was NO SNOW. I grew up in Virginia, we didn’t get a lot of snow but we had our years. I was glad to get away from the cold winters & snow & ice. My 2 oldest children had seen snow before, while visiting their Dad & my family in winter months. Our 5 younger children had never seen snow until last year. Well, besides on television. We didn’t get much much last year, but after first experiencing it, our daughter Anastasia said: “It’s white & it’s cold”.

It started snowing here last night, it is still snowing now. Thomas, our 2 year old, loves it. Luke, the 1 year old got to play with some on his highchair tray as well. He was all smiles. The other kids have been running in & out all day. Tracking in mud, snow & leaving wet clothes everywhere, but they are having fun. I remember how much I loved it when I was younger, now I can’t stand it. I would rather be indoors where it’s warm with a good book.

I see the fence is done. Did Bill get the gate on yet? The snow is a real treat for the kids. I’m with you though I can live without it. We actually got a dusting here in Durham last night. But all gone now.

  2. The fence is about done. Still have to finish painting it & putting the wire up behind it. He is going to try to get the gate on this weekend with James’ help. We still have snow. School has been out 2 days now because of it. The kids are enjoying the 4 day weekend.
